Unfortunately Training Peaks have informed us that they plan to switch off their API (Application Interface) that we use for our Training Peaks integration in early December 2016.
They indicated a few months earlier that they were planning to decommission their api at some stage and have now finalized the date to be the 7th December 2016. Although we lobbied them to upgrade their api instead of turning it off, they decided not to do so.
They are concerned that the api is becoming out of date and that it would not be financially viable to continue to support it going forward.
Anyway to put a positive tilt on this bad news we are now pushing forward our plans for more comprehensive training tools to make up for the loss of the Training Peaks integration features.
We are busy building deeper integration with the Strava api to pull a richer sub set of data from athletes connected accounts along with a Strava sync service. We are also now part of the Garmin Connect developer program and will work towards allowing athletes to connect and sync their Garmin connect accounts with their Training Tilt accounts. We plan to have the first part of this released before Training Peaks turn off their api. The first release will include a more detailed view of athletes Strava data view-able from the Athlete Dashboard. Over the weekend we already made a few small changes so on the Athletes profile page their Strava stream now shows heart rate, power and cadence information.
In a few days we will send a message to all athlete accounts in the system that have their accounts connected to Training Peaks.
We suggest that you also reach out to your athletes to let them know that after the 7th December they will no longer be able to export Training Plans to Training Peaks nor will they be able to view their Training Peaks data from within the Training Tilt platform.
The only remaining Training Peaks features we will be able to support is the Training Peaks login widget.
For now we are encouraging feedback on what sort of data integration would work best for our coaches, so if you have any suggestions please let me know.
I just want to let you all know that we are committed to continuing to add as much value to your business from our platform as possible.
As always thanks for being part of Training Tilt and let me know if you have any questions.
