Changing Lanes. Deploying the same patience to your coaching business that you expect from your clients.
You know when you sit on the motorway in traffic and you are tempted to change lanes because the one to the left or the right looks like it's moving faster?
And then you get impatient, change lanes and two minutes later the lane you were in before looks like it's going faster?
Changing lanes never get's you where you want to go faster, it just uses more energy and increases the chance of having an accident.
It's the same with your coaching business, you need to pick a path and stick to it long enough to get results.
This is not a criticism as I've done this over and over again in my own business. For years I've lacked the patience required to fully implement proven marketing strategies. It's hard to be patient when you put in the work and want the results. Business is a long game, patience is the key.
Coaches know that patience is required by their clients to get the results they want.
Coaches hate it when their clients want to try new and different things after a couple of months of training because they are impatient.
Coaches know it takes years of consistent training before their athletes will ever reach their true potential.
Unfortunately, the same coaches don't deploy that same patience to the results in their business and their marketing efforts.
Stuff we hear all the time from coaches.
"Facebook ads haven't worked for us". They blame the platform or they blame the audience.
"Content marketing hasn't worked for us". They blame the strategy even though their last blog post was 6 months ago.
"No one is buying my training plans". They blame the strategy of selling training plans not the fact that they have poorly executed a marketing campaign.
